Why was this technology developed?
In Romania, two major environmental accidents have marked the history of mining:

Certej (1971) – dam collapse, loss of lives and major destruction

Baia Mare (2000) – the largest cyanide spill in modern Europe
The need to find an alternative to the use of cyanide in gold and silver recovery mobilized the experience and knowledge of specialists from mining research and industry in Baia Mare, including after the closure of the mining research institute in Baia Mare, Romania.
A multidisciplinary team was formed in this way, turning a real problem into an applied research program.
The result of this effort is a fully ecological technology capable of eliminating cyanide use in mining once and for all.
10 Years of Research. Over 10,000 KG of Real Materials.
The research was not confined to the laboratory.
Over approximately ten years, the technology was developed and tested at a pilot plant, processing more than 10,000 kg of real samples: refractory gold-bearing concentrates, flotation tailings, metallurgical slags, and various categories of complex ores.
The result was a patented technology for gold and silver recovery without the use of cyanide, achieving recovery rates of 90–95%, depending on the characteristics of the material processed.
A Romanian invention. International protection.
The technology is protected by patents in Romania, the United States of America, and Canada, and is registered in the international intellectual-property system of WIPO — Geneva.
The rights to represent and implement the technology have been granted to Ground2Sky Gold Ltd., opening the path from research to industrial application.
The technology was born as a response to a real problem. But the responsible use of mineral resources — and the legacy left by historical mining — is a global issue.
The origin is Romanian. The protection is international. The applicability is global.
